Virtual IMMUNOLOGY2021™

May 10–15, 2021

For the first time in its history, AAI held a completely virtual meeting in 2021, owing to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that prevented our members from traveling. The need to share ground-breaking science had never been greater, and so the virtual format allowed AAI to offer its members an opportunity to learn about the latest research findings, view poster sessions, celebrate the 2021 Distinguished Fellows of AAI, and attend sessions, including a special session on COVID-19 and lessons learned from the pandemic.

The 104th annual meeting of AAI, scheduled to take place in Honolulu, HI, from May 8 – 12, 2020, was on its way to being a record breaker in terms of the number of registered attendees and abstract submissions. Sadly, the Council had to make the difficult decision to cancel the meeting due to a rapidly developing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Faced with advisories from the CDC, WHO, the U.S. Department of State, federal and state governments, and presented with extensive travel restrictions for members and colleagues around the globe, the Council determined this was the safest choice.
