The seventh annual AAI Public Policy Fellows Program (PPFP) Capitol Hill Day was held on March 14, 2018, during a very busy time on Capitol Hill as Congress worked to finalize its omnibus appropriations bill for fiscal year 2018. The Fellows visited 26 House and Senate offices to make the case for a large funding increase for NIH and to discuss the importance of the research they are doing at their institutions.

The Fellows were joined on Capitol Hill by AAI Committee on Public Affairs (CPA) Chair Beth Garvy; CPA member and Advocacy Programs Subcommittee Chair Lisa Borghesi; AAI Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs Lauren Gross; and AAI Manager of Science Policy and Legislative Affairs Jake Schumacher.
