AAI Membership Growth in Washington

The first AAI member in Washington joined in 1944, and for the next forty years the majority of AAI members were researchers at the University of Washington. AAI membership grew quickly in the 1980s as a result of the creation and expansion of independent research institutions and biotech firms.
