Assistant or Associate Professor – Immunology or Microbial Immunology

A faculty position is available immediately in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology for an investigator specializing in the molecular aspects of one or more of the following areas: innate immunity, immunoregulation, autoimmunity, or immune responses to microbial organisms, though applicants in all areas of immunology will be considered. Applicants must have a PhD., M.D., D.V.M. or equivalent degree in the immunological, microbiological or related biomedical sciences, at least two years of postdoctoral research experience, a history of high quality peer reviewed publications, and an aptitude and willingness to participate in graduate and medical education. Applicants for the position of Assistant Professor must have a research project or plan that complements current research interests in the Department and School of Medicine, though specific collaborations need not be identified. Applicants for the position of Associate Professor must have a successful, independent and ongoing research project. The Department of Microbiology and Immunology of The Chicago Medical School, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, located in the northern suburbs of Chicago, invites applications for full time, tenure-track appointments at the Associate and Assistant Professor levels in Immunology. Research directions should include:

Tenure-Track Faculty Position, Department of Microbiology and Immunology,Medical University of South Carolina 

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Medical University of South Carolina is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will have a research program in the area of humoral immunity in cancer that is currently supported by or is competitive for peer-reviewed funding.  Areas of particular interest within the field of humoral immunity will include but will not be limited to mechanisms of antibody-mediated tumor killing and therapeutic approaches to antibody-mediated cancer therapy. Independent funding is highly desirable.  Relocation of established funded research programs in tumor vaccines or tumor gene therapy will be considered. 

New faculty will have access to a competitive salary and startup funds and benefit from protected time for the establishment of a nationally competitive research program.  In 2006, new laboratory space opened in the Hollings Cancer Center. The Department provides teaching to multiple colleges within the University, and all faculty participate in professional and graduate education as well as maintain an active research program.

The Department of Pathobiological Sciences (PBS) at the Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Veterinary Medicine has embarked on the second phase of its strategic growth plan, which creates a tenure-track or tenured faculty position at the level of Associate or Full Professor. Applications are sought from candidates with research interests that strengthen or complement the Department’s current programs, particularly regarding the host immune response to infectious agents. The PBS Department has close ties with the LSU Agricultural Center, the National Hansen’s Disease Center, the Tulane National Primate Research Center, and LSU Medical Center in New Orleans. Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Nutrition and Inflammation, University of Illinois at Chicago

The Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition at the University of Illinois at Chicago invites applications for two new tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. We are seeking applicants to become part of a collaborative research group focused on different aspects of inflammation and nutrition. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree and postdoctoral experience. Successful applicants will be expected to develop independent and externally funded research programs in the general areas of inflammation and nutrition that may range from basic to translational and population research. Successful applicants will also be expected to contribute to our education mission at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics, College of Medicine, University of Kentucky, seeks candidates for full-time tenure-track ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR in immunology with interests including, basic cellular and molecular immunology, autoimmunity, innate immunity, vaccines, immunoregulation and immune responses to microbial organisms. Under the leadership of a newly appointed department chair, Roswell Park Cancer Institute is committed to the expansion of its Immunology program. The Department of Immunology invites applications for positions equivalent to the Assistant, Associate and Full Member (Professor). Candidates are sought with a strong background in Immunology with special interest in Tumor Immunology, to compliment and broaden the expertise of existing faculty in the department and strengthen the mission of the Institute as an NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Selection will be based on excellence in research and potential to maintain an outstanding independent research program.
