
The CSOW sponsored a symposium entitled "Leadership and Gender" at the 2002 annual AAI meeting in New Orleans. Dr. Sue Shafer, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research Administration at UCSF, gave a presentation entitled "Achieving Excellence in Science: How Scientific Societies Can Facilitate the Successful Contributions of Women to Science."
Dr. Diane Wara, Professor of Pediatrics and Associate Dean, Minority and Women's Affairs at UCSF, gave a presentation entitled "American Association of Medical Colleges Benchmark: Where Are Women scientists? Strategies for Advancing Women to Leadership Positions."
