The Journal of Immunology (The JI)

AAI owns and publishes The Journal of Immunology (“The JI”), which publishes novel peer-reviewed findings in all areas of experimental immunology.

AAI is committed to providing scientific researchers and the general public with prompt access to the results of all research published in The JI by providing:

  • abstracts (summaries of research findings) online immediately at no cost to readers
     
  • online access to full-text articles published from 1998 to one year prior to the current issue date at no cost to readers
     
  • articles to non-subscribers immediately for modest fee ($10 per article or $40 for two weeks)

Facts about The JI

  • cited more than any other any other immunology journal
     
  • has maintained the historic record of the discipline and served as its primary archive for more than 90 years
     
  • plays an integral role in the scientific process by providing unbiased peer-review and professional editing of scientific research results
     
  • ensures the integrity of the literature and the accuracy of published conclusions
     
  • through independent peer review, which evaluates the results of taxpayer-funded research, helps to ensure the effective use of limited federal funds
 

 

In 2006, The JI, through its professional editorial staff
  • published 1,845 manuscripts in over 16,000 pages
     
  • managed a database of more than 25,000 volunteer peer reviewers and authors, and coordinated more than 3,000 reviewers
     
  • used its state-of-the art technology to track and deliver manuscripts for review and for final publication online and in print.
