Committee Role

The AAI Education Committee is dedicated to promoting science education and helping its members in science outreach activities. This page is dedicated to those efforts.

We sponsor a Summer Research Program for Teachers, make available the exercises produced by its participants, present additional exercises for use at various K-12 grade levels, and provide information on mentoring a teacher or student or visiting a school in your area. Potential mentors in the AAI High School Teachers Summer Research Program in Immunology are encouraged to contact Dr. Brian A. Cobb, Ph.D. (Assistant Professor, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Department of Pathology/Room 6532, Wolstein Research Building, 10900 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44106-7288; Tel: (216) 368-1263; Fax: (216) 368-0494; brian.cobb@case.edu) or Kira Gantt at AAI headquarters, for additional materials.

  • An excellent book, SCIENCE EDUCATION PARTNERSHIPS, by Art Sussman (Univ. California, 1993) tells how to get started with these programs! It describes a number of things you can do in your district. Pick and choose!
