This is a 39-hour two-part
course. Part I (June 24-26) is a comprehensive introduction to the basic principles of immunology and is suitable for students with a general biology background. Part I is not intended for those with extensive course work or research experience in immunology. For an advanced course, see the
AAI Advanced Course in Immunology,
July 15-21, 2006, at Stanford University, Stanford, CA.
Part II (June 27-29) is a lecture course covering major areas of immunology and will require an understanding of basic immunology.
Parts I and II may be taken independently at the discretion of the student.
Financial support for underrepresented minority scientists is available
through the FASEB MARC program.

The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) is
accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to
sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. This activity has been
planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of
the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint
sponsorship of The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology and
the American Association of Immunologists.
Category I Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits toward the American Medical Association Physicians Recognition Award
will be offered at this course. One CME credit per hour, to a maximum of 39 credits, will be offered. CME applications will be available on site. There is a $45 application fee, payable upon submission of the

Course Objective/Target Audience
At the completion of this course, participants should be

instructors. This course is targeted to clinical practitioners, research
