John G. Monroe, Ph.D., is Professor & Vice Chair of the Department of Immunobiology, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Penn's School of Medicine. Chair of the 2005 Intro Course, Dr. Monroe presented sessions on "Overview: compartments of the immune system" and  "Molecular basis of diversity and antibody formation".

  Participants in the 2005 AAI Introductory Course in Immunology gather on the 14th floor of Penn's Biomedical Research Building.  The reception, held on June 27, served as a bridge between Parts I and II of the Course.
