Lefrançois-BioLegend Memorial Award

  Travel Awards Applications Now Open. Deadline: January 9, 2018

Established to honor the memory of AAI member Leo Lefrançois, Ph.D., this award is intended to advance the career of a trainee (graduate student or postdoctoral fellow) who attends the AAI annual meeting and presents an outstanding abstract specifically in the area of mucosal immunology. This award is generously supported by BioLegend and donations from friends and colleagues of Dr. Lefrançois.

Selection is based on submission of an outstanding abstract selected for presentation in a Block Symposium at the meeting. The award recipient will receive a $1,000 cash award and a certificate during the AAI Business Meeting and Awards Presentation at IMMUNOLOGY 2018™. This award may not be combined with other awards or grants for the AAI annual meeting.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  1. be an AAI Trainee member for 2018 with dues paid no later than January 9, 2018

  2. have submitted a first-author abstract for presentation (oral and poster) at IMMUNOLOGY 2018TM in the topic category of Mucosal and Regional Immunology by January 9, 2018

Any AAI Trainee member who submits a first-author abstract to IMMUNOLOGY 2018™ in the topic category of Mucosal and Regional Immunology automatically will be considered, provided that you meet all eligibility requirements above and select the option during abstract submission that indicates you are willing to make an oral presentation at the meeting. Candidates may be asked to provide a curriculum vitae. NOTE: If you select “POSTER ONLY,” you will NOT be considered for this award.
 
According to U.S. law, any AAI award recipient receiving monetary awards totaling $600 or more in a single year must provide AAI with a completed Form W-9 or a Form W-8BEN (as appropriate) in advance of receiving the cash award.
