This award recognizes an early-career investigator who has made outstanding contributions to the field of immunology. This award is generously supported through a grant from BD Biosciences.
Nominees must be Regular AAI member in good standing* who have received an advanced degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) within the last 15 years (a 2012 nominee must have received his/her degree on or after June 1, 1997). Eligibility of the nominee will be checked at time of award submission and before presentation of award.
The awardee will receive a $5,000 cash prize, meeting registration at the early rate, and travel support to the AAI Annual Meeting for presentation of his or her research in an award lecture preceded by the award presentation.
Complete nomination packages must be received by 11:59 PM E.S.T. on November 1, 2011. Packages must be submitted by email as a single combined PDF file to awards{at}aai.org. Incomplete nomination packages or nominations that do not comply with the stated instructions will not be considered and nominators will have to resubmit their packages. AAI will not accept materials sent separately from anyone other than the nominator or through regular mail.
Candidates must be nominated by a Regular AAI member in good standing.* Members may not nominate themselves. Members of the AAI Council and AAI Awards Committee may neither nominate nor recommend candidates, nor be nominated themselves.

(*) Member dues paid through the end of 2012; 2011 dues must be paid by the time of submission and 2012 dues must be paid between October 31 and November 15, 2011.
Note: Nomination packages for the AAI-BD Biosciences Investigator Award are automatically renewed for two years.
According to U.S. law, any AAI award recipient receiving monetary awards totaling $600 or more in a single year must provide AAI with a completed Form W-9 or a Form W-8BEN (as appropriate) in advance of receiving the cash award.
