CPA Session at IMMUNOLOGY 2013™

 

At IMMUNOLOGY 2013™, the Committee on Public Affairs (CPA) hosted the following session:

The Importance of Communicating Science in an Era of Doubters and Deniers

2013 CPA Session

The session featured two speakers:

  • Joe Palca, Ph.D., NPR Science Correspondent
  • Olivera (Olja) Finn, Ph.D., Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Immunology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine

Palca has been with NPR since 1992 and previously served as Washington News Editor for Nature and Senior Correspondent for Science Magazine

Finn is a veteran of the AAI Committee on Public Affairs and AAI Council, and served as AAI President from 2007-2008.

The session was chaired by Elizabeth Kovacs, Ph.D., Chair of the AAI Committee on Public Affairs.
